The high-revving concept has proven effective in many racing car engines. Now, in the engine of the Audi R8 GT, it delivers an enhanced power output and a high level of agility.
Even at low revs there is plenty of torque, up to 540 Nm, giving you outstanding acceleration. The output of this unit rises evenly across the entire engine speed range and it sounds impressively powerful. One special feature: you can also hear and feel the rich sound in the interior of the car.
Irresistible power. The 5.2 l V10 engine uses 4-valve FSI® technology, which burns fuel efficiently as a result of a shortened intake tract and boosts the power output up to 560 bhp (412 kW) by means of optimised engine management. Dry-sump lubrication gives the engine a low centre of gravity – thus improving weight distribution and handling characteristics accordingly. This type of lubrication also ensures that the oil pressure is consistently high, even under heavy load. You will notice it in the car's impressive directional stability and the extremely agile responsiveness of the engine
